Katosi/Mukono Apr. '10

View of Katosi and Laek victoria from Timothy Kakooza's church.
Katosi and Lake Victoria
The infamous "Katosi Road" - 20 milesin one hour.
Rain makes it worse.
Typical sight of overloaded bicycle.
Timothy's church on the hillside - the place of the conference.  A metal roof with no windows and a dirt floor.
timmothy Kakooza, pastor of the church and our coordinator for Uganda, introducing  the conference to the people.  Behind him is says, "Jesu Afayo", which means "Jesus Cares".
Here I am teachign in one of the opening sessions with my interpreter.
Here Scott Stewart is teaching and filling in for his dad, Bob Stewart, who could not go because of doctor's orders.
Pastors and church leaders taking notes.
Larry Mc, Timothy Kazooza and Scott Stewart.
Meal time at the conference - rice, potatoes and pineapple every day.
More LM teaching - 3 times a day.
Jenepher, Timothy's wife, doing music with her musci group from her church.
A portion of the 258 who registered for the 5-day conference.
Singing and dancing before the Lord.  They enjoy their music.
This elderly lady was the first Christian "pastor" in Katosi many years ago when they had no churches.
These are the toilet facilities for Timothy's church.  Ladies on the left and men on the right.  One of the nicest holes in the concrete I've ever seen!!!
LM, Scott, Jenepher adn Timothy at the crusade one night.
LM with John, who is Timothy's "right hand" man.  He has such a sweet servant spirit.  I made this picture myself.
Here I am with one of the island pastors, Kijambogo, who was expressing appreciation to us for the conference.
Timothy and I are standing with a man who got saved in our crusade in Katosi seven years ago.  He is serving faithfully in the church.
Here are two women who sing in the church music group who got saved in our 2003 crusade.
Here is a typical African home for 5 or 6 family members.
On the dirt street in Katosi, this man is cooking "chapatti" - a cooked bread shaped like a pancake.  Quite tasty.
Typical street market in katosi.  The ladies in the background are members of Timothy's church.
The children are usually excited about seeing and touching the white man.
Jenepher and her ladies singing at the four-night crusade.
We had lots of children at the cursade with a total attendance of between 300 and 400 each night.
Here Timothy is interpreting for me at the crusade service.
We had about 25 decisions every night of the crusade.

The "Blessed Hotel" was right next to where the crusade was held each night.  This is where we stayed for two week.

                    JUST KIDDING!!!!
